That's why I'm so excited to teach Yoga for Anxiety again. I've broken it up into two days so you get to process and synthesize in between sessions.

The first day we'll meet at the beautiful and peaceful Om Tree Shala in downtown Lawrence. This 90 minute yoga session is all-levels. I especially welcome beginners, even if you haven't taken yoga before. We'll very gently warmup and then sink deeply into the warriors of healing and yoga; restorative poses.  We'll open the chest for better breath control and let the muscles release completely to reduce stress, increase circulation and quiet the mind. I'll teach you which poses are especially good at soothing the nervous system. Our goal being to engage and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system.

The second day we'll meet at my new home right off Iowa St., west of downtown Lawrence. We'll do a shorter yoga session designed to increase circulation and release the creaky-cranky places that are talking to  you. Then I'll teach you some of the core concepts or dialectical behavior therapy and share the tools that I utilize to manage my mental health.  You'll also learn some keys to eating for your brain and your nervous system.

You can join me for either session or for the entire weekend.

At the end of our time together you'll feel well equipped with tools and skills to daily manage your mental health is a way that you feel confident in and works for your lifestyle.

One of the very tricky things about traveling and teaching is being able to serve my communities well. In taking time to contemplate how best to do this a simple answer popped up. So here it is, my tentative travel schedule. These are the dates that I am available to teach small groups, give Ananda sessions, lead workshops (yes, you and your co-workers/family/friends can schedule a private workshop), do private sessions or schedule private cooking

workshops, classes and events

Practices for Peace is a grounding, stress-busting, calming practice I developed to help us all stand in love and manage during these difficult times in the United States.

The thing is, it doesn't matter what you think or believe, there's a really good chance that you have a family member, a co-worker or a dear friend who thinks differently.

This workshop is about standing in love. It's about resisting the urge to run and hide, to stop talking to someone who doesn't believe what you believe. It's about loving anyway.

Standing in love helps us to feel more grounded. Choosing love, choosing life makes us feel more present, helps us engage, helps us connect with what is. When we're engaged with an open heart, we're better partners, better parents, better employees and bosses, better siblings, better neighbors. When you choose love, you're a better you.

For 90 minutes we'll practice standing poses, to feel more grounded and heart openers to help us feel love, restorative poses to feel more peaceful.

You'll leave at the end of 90 minutes feeling relaxed, peaceful, strong and inspired.  Yoga is a gift you give yourself. This is the perfect holiday gift. Give it to yourself, give it to a loved one.

Join me to find peace.

How's your mental health?  Do you think about it? We all think about our physical health right? It's probably what brought you to yoga. It's why you exercise, eat well, hydrate, make sure you see your doctor. How much do you think about your mental health? ur paragraph here.

About ten years ago I started teaching Yoga for Anxiety and Depression because I knew yoga was a great way to manage mental health issues, like my anxiety and PTSD. Now I teach it because we all need to think about our mental health just like we think about our physical health.
