If you're like me, the holidays are full of expectations, over-scheduling and a lot of running around. I'm trying to make the perfect holiday for everyone and I put all my own needs on the back burner.

What happens? My anxiety skyrockets. Maybe I'm able to keep it together till January, usually with too much Glogg and run cake, too little sleep and living on candy canes. Then in January I'm exhausted and I can't even think straight about all the goals I want to accomplish in the coming year.

Sound familiar? Let's do it differently this year! Join me at the beautiful Om Tree Shala for relaxing yoga sessions, DBT skills that you can use specifically for the busy holiday season, breath work that you can escape to the back bedroom to get you through family dinners and nutritional tips to keep you energized and sleeping well throughout. At the very least, you leave Sunday feeling extremely relaxed and grounded.

One of the very tricky things about traveling and teaching is being able to serve my communities well. In taking time to contemplate how best to do this a simple answer popped up. So here it is, my tentative travel schedule. These are the dates that I am available to teach small groups, give Ananda sessions, lead workshops (yes, you and your co-workers/family/friends can schedule a private workshop), do private sessions or schedule private cooking

The holidays are almost here and life is going to get hectic. Are you like me and promise yourself that this year is going to be different? Every year? This year is going to be well-planned and relaxing. It's going to be about the important things, like family and the spirit of the season. And then, if you're like me the next thing you know there are 20 people coming to a holiday dinner, half of whom you don't really like and you're spending way too much on the kids and the stress is getting big and you're not sleeping, cause, well there's projects to get done.

How do we combat this? How do we step back and focus on what's really important.

Yoga! No surprise that I would say that, right? Really, though, yoga with a loved one helps us feel grounded and connected. It gives us a chance to just breathe. And laugh. And renew. And remember who we are.

Join me for this all-level class at the beautiful Om Tree Shala in gorgeous downtown Lawrence, KS. We'll breathe, stretch, open and remember that amongst the chaos and the overwhelm and the expectations, love is the most important thing.
